AIG, a century-old insurance goliath, and its subsidiary National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA were hit with a class action Wednesday in New York Southern District Court on behalf of purchasers of single-trip travel insurance.
The action, filed by Scott + Scott; Zimmerman Reed LLP and Lynch Carpenter LLP, accuses the defendants of failing to provide refunds to customers who cancelled their trips in advance and therefore paid for risk coverage that never materialized.
Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:22-cv-01483, Seibel v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA et al.
