Over the past four years a Georgia man has staged several accidents or caused accidents in order to file false injury claims. He has been arrested and is facing several counts of felony insurance fraud and making false statements to law enforcement. He is being charged with three counts of felony aggravated assault, eight counts of insurance fraud, two counts of false statements and writings, first degree criminal damage to property, two second degree criminal damage to property, three misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct and two counts of false report of a crime.
He routinely made false statements to police after these accidents, made false statements to insurers, made claims for damages and injuries that he did not sustain. On multiple occasions he caused over $500 in damage to other vehicles.
