A Washington man is wanted by authorities for failing to appear in court to face felony charges of theft and filing a false insurance claim. The man purchased an auto policy for his vehicle in 2020, and a few hours later reported an accident with the vehicle. In the course of the investigation of the damages, the adjuster found a tow truck receipt for the vehicle dated and timed several hours before the insured purchased the policy. The carrier referred the case to the Criminal Insurance Unit as required.
