A man struck by a tractor-trailer in a Miami intersection recovered $1 million in a non-litigated settlement with the motorist's insurer. The accident occurred on March 5, 2020.
The tractor-trailer's driver was proceeding with a green traffic signal, but the pedestrian, Manuel Anduray, was in a crosswalk.
Anduray was struck and suffered degloving of his buttocks, a foot and a knee, and he also suffered four spinal fractures. His degloving injuries required a total of 15 surgeries, and he also suffered a stroke during the weeks that followed the accident.
The driver's insurer, National Specialty Insurance Co., tendered its policy, in the amount of $1 million, after receiving a demand a letter from an attorney Anduray had retained.
