One of our contractor insureds has insurance with Travelers. The insured's client requires an additional insured status on a primary noncontributory basis and requests ISO CG 2001 endorsement. Travelers does not use this endorsement because Travelers amended its policy form to include under Conditions, other Insurance. Please see attached Travelers CGL pdf page 122; d) Primary and Non-Contributory if Required in a Written Contract.

The Travelers underwriter agrees with us that there is no difference. Please review and let us know.

You are correct that paragraph d. of the Other Insurance condition serves the same purpose as the Primary and Noncontributory – Other Insurance Condition endorsement CG 20 01. For your convenience we have attached the endorsement so that you can read clearly that the same provisions are stated in both the endorsement and the Travelers form. Under the Travelers form, if an additional insured signs a written contract or agreement the general liability coverage will apply on a primary basis and noncontributory with the other insurance available to that additional insured as long as the coverage sought is the same as that provided in the general liability policy and the injury or damage occurs after the named insured has signed the contract. This is the same manner in which the coverage would apply under the CG 20 01 endorsement. No coverage would apply under either provision unless both the additional insured and the named insured signed the contract or agreement and the injury or damage occurred after the contract was signed by both parties.
