Fraud of the Week

Arson – Pennsylvania

Amount -Unknown

A Pennsylvania man was caught in part by a neighbor's ring doorbell, his cell phone, and a nearby security camera setting fire to his garage. He then filed a claim with his insurance company. He was charged with felony arson, reckless burning, criminal mischief and filing a false or fraudulent insurance claim.

The neighbor's doorbell recording showed the man getting into a vehicle while a neighboring security camera caught the fire a minute later. His cell phone showed he was in the area contrary to his claims of being at a grocery store, which did not have any record of his being there. He has been arrested and released on $10,000 bond.
