Multiple COVID-19 Frauds – Georgia No Dollar Amount

A number of fraud attempts related to the COVID-19 crisis have been reported in various areas of Georgia. Three different people were reported to police for going through the neighborhood trying to sell supplemental COVID-19 insurance. If caught, individuals attempting to sell fake insurance will be charged with violating the city's shelter in place ordinance. A fraud investigation will be launched as well, which carries more serious consequences.

Last week in Braselton Georgia, after a federal health care investigation, a man was charged for submitting fraudulent claims to insurers.

Another individual has been arrested for dressing up in a "quarantine suit" and going door-to-door offering fraudulent COVID-19 tests. He was arrested for impersonating a public employee and released on bail.
