Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has appointed Alan McClain as the state's new insurance commissioner. McClain has previously served as the commissioner of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services within the Department of Commerce and served on the Arkansas Workforce Development Board.

McClain replaces former Commissioner Allen Kerr who resigned in March after a lawsuit was filed alleging that Kerr revoked a former Arkansas agent's insurance license without providing due process.
