Auto Fraud – California

$179,106

Seven people have been arrested in California for a three-year scheme involving claims for expensive car seats that were involved in auto accidents, as well as claims for accidents that never occurred. Receipts for the car seats were altered so that the insureds received more for the car seats than had actually been paid. A number of the collisions were found to be paper collisions, accidents that did not actually happen. The suspects also altered medical bills and repair bills. A total of 32 false insurance claims were filed for an amount of $179,106.
