A new New York bill could prevent the closure of workers' compensation claims if the employer fails to provide injured workers with all of the records of the proceedings in their own native language. The bill depicts that it would require New York's Workers Compensation Board to keep accurate stenographic records of all hearings, and provide the information and minutes to injured workers and their representatives in the native language of the worker – at no cost. Also, all decisions would be issued to the worker in their native language.

Language barriers can complicate litigation and recovery, potentially leading to poor outcomes for all parties involved. This is a huge step toward minority inclusion for New York.
