DAC Beachcroft LLP and Hong Kong practice Oldham, Li & Nie ("OLN") have agreed to collaborate.
In a statement, DAC Beachcroft said that the collaboration would add additional scope and scale to the insurance and reinsurance services it offers clients with an interest in Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China ("PRC"), and throughout Asia.
Headquartered in Hong Kong and with an office in Shanghai, 40-lawyer OLN focusses on insurance and reinsurance, corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, employment and immigration, intellectual property, tax, and private client work.
Singapore-based insurance partner Steven Dewhurst will lead the collaboration for DAC Beachcroft opposite counterparts Greg Crichton and Adelina Wong on behalf of OLN. All three have experience with the insurance and reinsurance sector in Asia, including working within Hong Kong's insurance regulatory environment.
This is the latest insurance-focused international expansion by DAC Beachcroft. The firm recently agreed to a new association with Argentina's López Saavedra & Villarroel Abogados, giving it a footprint in 11 separate jurisdictions in Latin America.
Last year also saw the launch of Legalign Global with BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr (Germany), Wilson Elser (United States) and Wotton + Kearney (Australia), which combined four insurance law firms to deliver legal services for insurers and their global clients.
