Arson Leading to Murder–Indiana
AMOUNT: $300,000+
An Indiana man was convicted of two counts of murder, two counts of felony murder, twelve counts of arson involving bodily injury, thirty-four counts of arson with no bodily injury, two counts of conspiracy to commit arson, and one count of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud. The convicted person conspired with his girlfriend and his half-brother to blow up the home in order to get $300,000 in insurance payments. Safety valves were removed in order to allow natural gas into the home; the house exploded and damaged or destroyed eighty other homes in the neighborhood. A couple in the neighborhood was killed as a result of the explosion.
