Exploding Glass

February 2, 2011

I have a claim with an HO 00 03 (4-91). The claim involves a tempered glass wall in a shower spontaneously exploding. The insured states they were in the kitchen when it happened. I believe this will fall under either an inherent vice/latent defect in the glass or faulty workmanship when the glass was installed. In either case, I believe the loss of the glass is not covered. Is this correct and would any ensuing damage to the tub, tiles and vanity be covered?
