We have an Insured whose 22-year-old son is currently serving in the Marines. The son enlisted in the Marines three years ago, and went from living with his parents to living on base. He just recently moved into rental housing near the base. He stated that he is getting close to the end of his enlistment period and if his unit is not assigned to a tour in Afghanistan, he does not plan to reenlist and will instead head back home to live with his parents. He considers his parent’s home his permanent residence.

During the move, the son’s vehicle was broken into and his Marine gear and other personal property were stolen. The son does not have renter’s insurance, as he thought he would be covered under his parent’s Homeowner’s policy.
