Andrew Harris, Jr., president of Liberty Insurance of MillstoneTownship, N.J., has been named the 2020 Professional Agent of theYear by the NationalAssociation of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA).

In a statement, PIA NationalPresident Dennis Kuhnke said: "This award is PIA's highest honor. Andrew Harris, Jr. hasdistinguished himself as a leader in the agency business, andin PIA. Andrew has built andmaintained strong personal relationships with top-level managementof the carriers he represents and is committed to the independent agencysystem."

Harris has a long history with the PIA organization. For2019-2020, he was elected as secretary of PIA of New Jersey (PIANJ)and also served as the legislative/regulatory chairperson forNIANJ's Government Affairs Committee and co-chair of the SpecialOlympics Golf Committee. Also, in 2019, Harris was named as thestate association's Professional Agent of the Year after beingnamed Director of the Year in 2018.

He is currently a member of the Executive/Budget &Finance and PIANJ Political Action Governing Committees.Additionally, Harris is a director of PIANJ's New Jersey YoungInsurance Professionals, an organization dedicated to theprofessional and personal growth of newcomers to the insuranceindustry.

"Andrew has been instrumental in getting PIA's message out in support of independent insurance agents, to legislators andregulators — on both a statewide and national level,"said PIA of New JerseyPresident Bruce Blum in a statement. "He is truly a working agentwho is professional, courteous, and remarkably competent. He isvery knowledgeable on all aspects of the insurance industry, and weare very lucky to have him as part of our organization."
