PC360, in partnership with Flaspöhler Research Group, surveyed407 independent producers about insurer utilization, performance,perceptions of insurers and related topics.

For the Top 10 by Rating list, carriers were scored on 10evaluation and selection factors: Underwriting Process; FinancialSecurity; Responsive Service; Claims Handling; Risk Management andLoss-Control Programs; Compensation Program; Products andCoverages; Brand Reputation; Partnership; and Technology Support.Then the individual ratings for the factors were combined into asingle mean.

This method is not biased toward larger carriers since it isbased on ratings of the carrier by producers who have worked withthat carrier.
