The Arizona Department of Insurance published a bulletin asking insurers to provide support to insureds affected by recent severe weather events in the state, including heavy rains, high winds, flooding, and tornadoes.

Governor Katie Hobbs issued emergency declarations on October 30 and November 2, 2026, in response to the weather events. The Department is asking insurers to provide a grace period for premium payments, waive deductibles, and postpone cancellations and non-renewals for the next ninety days.

Insurers are also asked to promptly respond to ALE requests and extend reporting requirements for claim submissions and the time for insureds to replace damaged property subject to full replacement coverage. Finally, insurers are asked to suspend late payment and other fees resulting from an insured's temporary inability to pay premiums and to accommodate insureds having difficulty providing proof of loss.

The bulletin can be found here.
