The Arkansas Insurance Department published a bulletin announcing a change in the insurance licensing process, in an effort to streamline its licensing procedures.

The process has been changed so that an applicant must first pass their required examination and then submit the license application and criminal background check. Previously, the steps could be done in any order.

The change applies to applicants whose license requires an exam. The Department plans to publish more guidance, including the implementation date, on its website.

The bulletin can be found here.
