The Texas Department of Insurance adopted three items from the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI).

The first is Item B-1452—Revisions to Basic Manual Classifications for Bakeries and Restaurants. The filing revises classifications related to bakery and restaurant operations, including mobile food vendors, in NCCI's Basic Manual. The change was made to account from the shift in modern bakeries acting as wholesale producers to offering direct-to-consumer services and becoming more like traditional restaurants.

Item P-1420—Establishment of Notification Endorsement of Pending Law Change to Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2019, adds an endorsement that notifies policyholders that their premium could change when the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2019 (TRIPRA) expires. TRIPRA is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2027, unless reauthorized.

Item 01-TX-2026—Revisions to NCCI's Basic Manual for Texas to Update Terminology Related to Disability Language, replaces the outdated term, "mental retardation," with "intellectual disability," and to be consistent with the Texas Health and Safety Code.
