The Texas Department of Insurance published a news release announcing the interest or discount rates for workers' compensation, which is required by the Texas Workers' Compensation Act to be updated every quarter.
Effective from July 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026, the rate will be 7.34%. The current rate, effective from April 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026, is 7.14%.
The rates are calculated using the U.S. Treasury's one-year constant-maturity rate for U.S. Treasury bills for the relevant quarter, and adding 3.5 percent.
