The Texas Department of Insurance announced that it has officially adopted an amendment to 28 TAC§9.1, which incorporates the latest version of the Basic Manual of Rules, Rates, and Forms for the Writing of Title Insurance in the State of Texas.

A Commissioner's Order resulted in a 6.2% reduction in title insurance basic premium rates, effective March 1, 2026. The amendment to the regulation officially adopts this reduction in the statute.
