The Pennsylvania Insurance Department published a bulletin informing participants of the Underground Storage Tank Indemnification Fund (USTIF) of the current deductibles.
The fund covers the necessary costs to clean up contamination caused by a leaking storage tank. The USTIF board voted on December 11, 2025, to maintain the following deductibles: $5,000 per tank per occurrence for corrective claims, and $5,000 per tank per occurrence for claims due to bodily injury or property damage caused by a sudden or nonsudden release from underground storage tanks in the state.
For Tank Installer Indemnification Program (TIIP) claims, there is a $5,000 deductible per tank per occurrence for bodily injury or property damage caused by a release from an underground storage tank resulting from an installation, modifications, or removal of regulated underground tanks.
The changes are effective on January 10, 2026.
The bulletin can be found here.
