American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., has appointed Eric Hunziker as chief claims officer and as a member of American Modern's executive management board.
“Eric has had a longstanding career at American Modern and brings his extensive industry knowledge and experience in claims to his new role,” said Andreas Kleiner, the president and chief executive officer at American Modern. “His in-depth experience, combined with his strong strategic acumen and his outstanding track record in transforming the producer management department, will help further elevate our claims organization as it seeks new ways to continually improve the customer experience.”
Mr. Hunziker has been with American Modern for more than 25 years and most recently served as vice president of producer management. Since he began his career at American Modern in 1994 as a staff adjuster and examiner, Mr. Hunziker has served in various claims roles covering all key aspects of claims management, the company said in a statement.
During the past four years, Mr. Hunziker led the company's producer management department. He also spearheaded the implementation of new robotics technologies to automate workflows to deliver a better, faster, and more consistent customer experience to American Modern's distribution partners, American Modern added.
“I'm excited to take on the challenges of this new role,” said Mr. Hunziker. “An insured loss can be an emotional time for our customers. The claims team is the 'face' of our company, so getting the customer experience right the first time is a critical part of the insurance process. I look forward to working with the team to continue to build a best-in-class customer experience for American Modern policyholders.”
Mr. Hunziker succeeded Dave McNutt, who retired from the company at the end of June.
