Beazley has appointed Richard Montminy as global head of the company's property division, effective May 20, 2019.
Mr. Montminy has more than three decades of experience in commercial property insurance in underwriting and broking roles. He joined Beazley from Zurich North America, where he most recently served as head of property for its U.S. commercial insurance operations. Before joining Zurich four years ago, he spent 17 years at Marsh USA, where he held various insurance broking and practice leader positions in cities across the United States.
In a statement, Beazley said that Mr. Montminy will be responsible for developing Beazley's global property strategy and will lead property teams based across the United States, the United Kingdom (including at Lloyd's), and Singapore. He will report to Beazley's chief underwriting officer, Adrian Cox, and will join Beazley's executive committee.
Mr. Montminy succeeds Mark Bernacki, who stepped down from the position at the end of April after 13 years at Beazley.
Mr. Cox said, “I am delighted to welcome Richard to Beazley. He brings a wealth of experience to our second largest division, including a deep understanding of both the U.S. and London property insurance markets.”
