The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“FOIR”) has updated its Hurricane Michael claims figures and the new numbers do not show a big jump.

As of March 29, the FOIR continues to report that about 144,000 claims have been filed with insurers, and that insured losses exceed $6 billion – now, at $6,152,948,104.

The vast majority of claims – over 95,000 – relate to residential property; 79.7 percent of those claims have been closed.

The FOIR reported the following data as of Friday, March 29, 2019.
