Nigel Montgomery has joined Locke Lord as a consultant in the firm's London office.
Locke Lord said in a statement that Mr. Montgomery will help strengthen and expand the firm's global insurance and reinsurance practice group by building an insurance team in the firm's London office.

Mr. Montgomery has been an adviser to the insurance industry for more than three decades. He has advised on acquisitions and sales of insurers and brokers as well as on the establishment of branches and new insurance companies. His additional areas of focus have included cyber risk, cyber insurance, bank operational risk insurance, and run-off.
“I have had long ties with the firm's respected and well-known insurance and reinsurance lawyers and I am excited to now have the opportunity to work beside them and help grow this international practice in London,” Mr. Montgomery said.
Mr. Montgomery is a non-executive director of Tyser & Co. Limited, Aquila Underwriting LLP, and Hawkes Bay Holdings Limited. Previously, he was a solicitor and partner in Sidley Austin LLP.
