A Fond Farewell
December 19, 2016
David D. Thamann, J.D., ARM, CPCU and managing editor of the FC&S Bulletins has been an integral part of FC&S since 1987. He is retiring at the end of this year in order to travel, spend time with grandchildren, and complete various honey-do tasks as assigned by Mrs. Thamann.
During his tenure at FC&S Mr. Thamann has written or contributed to an assortment of insurance coverage publications including Business Auto Coverage Guide, Personal Auto Coverage Guide, Workers Compensation Guide, Commercial General Liability Supplement, and Commercial Liability Coverage Guide, all published by The National Underwriter Company. He was also a regular contributor to Claims Magazine and PC360, as well as a frequent guest speaker or presenter at various insurance-related seminars and meetings across the country.
Mr. Thamann is well known for his expertise in commercial lines and his fierce loyalty to FC&S subscribers. Guardian of the print bulletins, he strove to ensure that each issue provided subscribers with solid, interesting content. Mr. Thamann has also mentored various staff members during his time here.
However, none of this addresses the true David Thamann: funny, with his own way of looking at things, a fondness for JFK and old monster movies, and knowing the importance of having one's desk chair adjusted just so. He will be missed by all.
