David Zona has been appointed chief operations officer for Prudential Group Insurance, a business of Prudential Financial, Inc. In this role, he will lead all underwriting, claims, and service delivery functions across Prudential Group Insurance and is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that optimizes service, profitability, and risk management.
“David's broad organizational leadership experience, approach to risk portfolio management, and success delivering significant improvements leveraging predictive analytics is a tremendous asset to our business,” said Andrew Sullivan, the president of Prudential Group Insurance.
Before joining Prudential Group Insurance as chief underwriting officer, Mr. Zona served as senior vice president with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, the industrial insurer of Allianz Group. He was responsible for the operating results of its commercial lines business in the northeast region. Previously, he served as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer at Allianz-owned Fireman's Fund Insurance. Mr. Zona's experience also includes positions with Nationwide Insurance and American International Group.
He has an M.S. in risk management and insurance from Georgia State University and an M.B.A. from Duke University. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.
