Richard DeNatale has joined Jones Day as a partner in its insurance recovery practice and will be based in the firm's San Francisco office.

Mr. DeNatale arrived from the San Francisco office of Orrick, where he was a partner in that firm's insurance group and headed the group's cyber/data breach practice. Mr. DeNatale has more than 20 years of experience advising policyholders on insurance matters and representing clients in coverage litigation. He has tried more than 15 cases and won jury verdicts on coverage and bad faith claims.

“Richard's addition to our insurance recovery practice underscores Jones Day's commitment to vigorously protecting the insurance rights of corporate policyholders,” said Ty Childress, a partner in Jones Day's Los Angeles office and leader of the firm's insurance recovery practice. “We're delighted that Richard has joined our team and we know that his experience will be of great benefit to our clients.”

“Richard's experience on a wide range of insurance claims, settlements, and coverage litigation throughout the country not only provides deeper capabilities for our growing insurance recovery practice, but also adds to Jones Day's substantial experience defending clients in class actions, product defect cases, and real estate litigation,” said Aaron Agenbroad, the partner-in-charge of Jones Day's San Francisco office. “He is an excellent addition to our team of litigators based in the Bay Area and across all five of our California offices.”

Mr. DeNatale earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Harvard College.
