Third Point Reinsurance Ltd. has appointed Janice Weidenborner to the position of executive vice president and group general counsel, effective January 1, 2016.
John R. Berger, the chairman and chief executive officer of Third Point Re, commented, “I am pleased to have Janice joining the company as I believe her substantial experience in the insurance industry combined with her proven track record will be very valuable in helping Third Point Re successfully execute its business plan.”
Ms. Weidenborner joined Third Point Re after serving as general counsel for Ariel Reinsurance, where she was responsible for all aspects of Ariel Re's legal and compliance functions. Prior to Ariel Re, Ms. Weidenborner spent over 20 years at the ACE Group (and one of its predecessors, CIGNA P&C), where she held various roles including senior vice president, associate general counsel, and regional compliance officer at ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd., associate general counsel at ACE Tempest Reinsurance Ltd., and general counsel at ACE Financial Solutions International.
