Security Life Insurance Company of America is launching Affordable Care Act (“ACA”) group dental insurance products.

The ACA group dental plans are now available to quote in 22 states for January 1, 2015 effective dates. The plans are open to groups with as few as two lives on an employer-funded or voluntary basis. While each plan includes the same certified pediatric dental benefits satisfying EHB requirements, the adult benefits range from basic to comprehensive.

“When the Affordable Care Act launched, we saw a need for group dental insurance plans that included pediatric dental coverage to satisfy the EHB requirements,” said Mark Zesbaugh, the chief executive officer of Security Life. “Health insurance companies can focus on offering plans that fulfill the nine essential health benefits (“EHBs”) that are medical-related while ancillary benefits experts, like Security Life, can fulfill the pediatric dental EHB.
