Jeff Canfield has joined Aspen US Insurance as senior vice president and product line leader of excess casualty insurance.
Mr. Canfield, who will be reporting to Roxanne Mitchell, the executive vice president of casualty insurance, will lead excess casualty, one of the four product lines within the company's new U.S. casualty structure – the other three being real estate/hospitality, construction, and products liability.
Mr. Canfield has 20 years of experience in underwriting, claims, and broker relations. Prior to joining Aspen, Mr. Canfield was responsible for an excess casualty book at AIG, managing a team of underwriters, and he also worked in claims at Amica Insurance.
Mr. Canfield holds a bachelors degree in political science from the University of Richmond.
Ms. Mitchell commented, “Jeff's extensive experience of managing an excess casualty book will strengthen further our presence in the U.S. casualty market. With experience in underwriting, claims, and broker relations, Jeff will be a valuable addition to the Aspen team.”
