Great American Insurance Group has launched enhanced professional liability coverage for human and social service organizations. According to Michael Liguzinski, the company's divisional president, Great American's enhanced professional liability coverage provided human and social service organizations with the unique insurance protection needed in the event of an alleged issue in rendering their services.

Mr. Liguzinski continued, “Professionals are at the heart of the services that these organizations provide. One of the key features of our policy is the broad definition of 'professional services.' Rather than limiting the policy to apply only to those with degrees or certifications, our policy considers a professional someone that has specialized education, knowledge, labor, judgment, and skill that is predominately mental or intellectual. For example, our policy could cover the leader of a church teen youth group who provides advice and guidance based on his or her parenting experience from raising teenagers.”

Additional policy features included:

  • Limits of up to $1 million for each act, error or omission; $3 million in aggregate and $15 million umbrella limits.
  • Claim and legal expense are covered outside the professional limit of liability.
  • Professional coverage is provided for any act, error, or omission regarding the rendering or failure to render a professional service.
