Dr. Bodo Sartorius will join ARIS Title Insurance Corporation, which secures legal ownership to fine art and other precious collectible, non-real estate property assets, effective January 1, 2014, as chief operating officer and senior European Union executive.

Dr. Sartorius will join ARIS from AXA ART, where he served as chief operating officer for over a decade. Based out of ARIS' Zurich office, Dr. Sartorius will help to oversee both U.S. and international operations for ARIS and will assume day-to-day management of ARIS' market initiatives in the EU centered in Luxembourg and London.

“Dr. Sartorius joins us with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and respected relationships throughout the international art industry,” commented ARIS Chairman Lawrence M. Shindell. “We continue to develop the title insurance market for the global art and collectibles industry particularly in the institutional commercial, financial services, and alternative asset investment fund sectors. Having Dr. Sartorius on the ARIS team will assist in these growth efforts as well as in strengthening our symbiotic relationship with the fine art property insurance market.”

“The expertise that Dr. Sartorius brings will be a substantial asset as ARIS grows its market presence and expands its innovative initiatives,” said Argo Group president and chief executive officer Mark E. Watson III. “We're very excited that he'll be joining the ARIS leadership team.”
