Chicago attorney Mark D. DeBofsky has established DeBofsky & Associates P.C., a law firm that he said will provide consultation and litigation assistance regarding disability insurance, life/accidental death insurance, long term care, health, retirement and other employee benefit issues. The firm opened its office at 200 W. Madison St. in Chicago.

Mr. DeBofsky has been in practice since 1980. In 2002, he was a founding partner of the Chicago firm Daley DeBofsky & Bryant. He has testified before the U.S. Senate and the Department of Labor, most recently in 2012 to argue for administrative and legislative reform of ERISA, the federal law regulating employee benefits.

Mr. DeBofsky's associates in the new firm are Martina B. Sherman and Marie E. Casciari; they all have worked together since 2009.

Of the transition to his new practice, Mr. DeBofsky said, “At this juncture, I decided that I could be more productive in a boutique environment. This specialized approach allows my firm to serve our clients in a more focused manner in advocating for the rights of the individual, and to establish additional legal precedents. We are not simply practicing the law, we are helping to shape it.”
