XL Group has named Mark McConico as vice president and underwriting manager for XL's U.S. risk management group in Los Angeles. In addition, XL Group has promoted Theresa Schlageter to senior vice president and regional manager of the Western zone for its U.S. risk management business. Mr. McConico will be reporting to Ms. Schlageter.

Mr. McConico joined XL Group from AON Risk Solutions, where he served as vice president and casualty manager in its risk management and middle market groups. Prior to his most recent position with AON, he spent a decade in primary casualty underwriting positions with ACE Risk Management. Mr. McConico will drive the growth of XL Group's primary casualty risk management business throughout the Southwest region.
