The Big "I" Agents Council for Technology (ACT) recently updated its free Agency Cyber Guide, which is intended to serve as a reference for today's insurance organizations as they manage and cover evolving cybersecurity and technology issues. "Knowing that small businesses — including many Big 'I' member independent agencies — are one of the most common targets for cybercriminals, and that independent agents are the trusted custodians of insureds' private information, makes it crucial to arm agents with the best resources possible," ACT Executive Director Ron Berg said in a recent press release. "Our Agency Cyber Guide 3.0 does just that: providing insights on the cyber trends, data breach costs, insights on regulations and, most importantly, how to protect their data and agency." Berg alludes to the breadth of the information-security insights for insurance agents and agencies included within the complimentary resource, which underwent a complete redesign and is now housed on a dedicated page within the Big "I" website. In addition to detailed guidance on regulations, descriptions, penalties and more, the Agency Cyber Guide includes a 12-step compliance road map that's summarized in the slideshow above. See also:
