Spurred on by seedy social media challenges and an overall increase in car thefts left Hyundai and Kia models ranking heavily on the National Insurance Crime Bureau's annual list of most stolen vehicles.
Overall, auto thefts increased 1% in 2023, the NICB reported.
Hyundai had two vehicles ranked in the top 10, while Kia had four models in the top 10, data from the NICB showed. Thefts of these vehicles hit such a boiling point that some insurance carriers reportedly considered curtailing coverage.
