QBE North America announced the appointment of Tom Fitzgerald aspresident, specialty & commercial. He will formally join thecompany in February.

Fitzgerald most recently served as CEO of Aon Risk Solutions'global broking operations. He held many leadership positionsthrough Aon, including CEO of U.S. retail operations at Aon RiskSolutions, chief broking officer at Aon's U.S. commercial risk, andpresident of Aon Private Risk Management.

"With nearly three decades of experience, Tom is proven leaderand has a powerful reputation for his ability to develop andleverage risk and insurance solutions to aid clients in mitigatingtheir exposures, while also developing new revenue and growthopportunities," Todd Jones, CEO of QBE North America, said in astatement. "He's an innovator who has made important contributionsto the industry and I am confident that he will successfully leadthis critical business into the future and have a positive impacton the overall organization."

As a member of the QBE North America's executive leadershipteam, Fitzgerald will report to Jones.

As one of the largest businesses within QBE North America, thespecialty & commercial division consists of a diverse portfolioof commercial property and casualty and specialty products andservices focused on meeting customer needs across a broad array ofsegments of risk categories.
