IMB recently announced that it's collaboratingwith MetLifeand Majesco on a cloud-basedinsurance platform. The IBM Insurance Platform will featurecognitive computing, data analytics and integration and securitycapabilities designed to help insurers expand access to theirproducts and capture new customers. "Carriers will be able toinject greater innovation and speed into their operating models,and consumers will experience a broader range of products tailoredto their individual needs," Bridget van Kralingen, senior vicepresident of IBM Industry Platforms, said in a press release.

OctoTelematics recently struck a deal to acquire the usage-basedinsurance (UBI) assets of Willis TowersWatson, including its market-leading DriveAbility® solution and theDriveAbility Marketplace. Key Willis Towers Watsonpersonnel will also join the Octo team, notably industry pioneerGeoff Werner (Global Telematics Leader) who has led the developmentand growth of DriveAbility throughout its lifecycle. In light ofthis transaction, Octo will develop a strategic alliance withWillis Towers Watson on additional auto telematics opportunities toenhance both companies' suite of products and services. Thepartnership will focus on further development of algorithms andother analytical tools to provide actionable intelligence based onaccurate analysis of data.

Specialist insurer Beazley, an underwriter of hospitalprofessional liability insurance, has teamed up with The Risk AuthorityStanford (TRA Stanford), a provider of healthcare riskmanagement services, to enrich and enhance Beazley's hospitalclaims database. TRA Stanford's Innovence™ Pulse—software designedby risk managers for risk managers — will be used to identifytrends in past claims and generate actionable data in real time toincrease patient safety. "An important part of our value to clientslies in the breadth of our claims experience, backed by the dataheld on our claims database — one of the insurance industry'slargest," said Nat Cross, healthcare focus group leader at Beazley."Through the relationship with The Risk Authority Stanford, we willsignificantly increase this value."

EosVenture Partners (Eos), a global InsurTech Fund, announcedearlier this month that it will be a partnerto the Hartford InsurTech Hub powered byStartupbootcamp InsurTech. Eos Founder Sam Evans said of theannoucement: "We're delighted to extend our existing relationshipand funding commitment with SBC to their new program in the US.We've been working with SBC InsurTech in London and knowthrough that experience that it's a fantastic program with somegreat companies. In fact, we've invested in two SBC alumni,RightIndem and Insure A Thing."

Eos also recently announced a strategic partnershipwith ClickFox, thejourney company. Eos said this was a natural extention of theexisting partnership between ConVista andClickFox. ConVista is a certified delivery partner of the ClickFoxsolution, focusing on insurers.

SpatialKeyInc. will offer its insurance clients access to market-leadingpolitical violence data from IHS Markit, which provides comprehensivelocation-specific risk scores and in-depth intelligence. InSeptember, the service became immediately available to underwritersand exposure managers within SpatialKey's geospatial insuranceanalytics platform.

Royal &Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada has successfullydeployed Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its new claimsmanagement system. RSA chose ClaimCenter to enable the delivery ofa simple, personal, and proactive, customer-centric claimsexperience for its customers. The company also sought to enhanceits operational efficiencies and product growth to support businessprocesses in a cost-effective manner.

Guidewire Software, Inc. also recently announced that it isteaming with Salesforce to bring to market a new solution todeliver CRM optimized for the unique needs of P&C insurance.The solution will empower insurers to better engage with theircustomers, partners, and employees. As part of the partnership,Guidewire is joining the Salesforce AppExchange, the world'sleading enterprise apps marketplace.
