When you think of a car enthusiast, you might imagine an owner with any number of cars to their name.

Whether they be an antique, classic or vintage model, chances are they're worth a lot more now than what they were first valued.

But when you think of a car enthusiast, do you picture a truck amidst their collection? Well, you should. It's no secret that Americans love their trucks, and over time, quite a few became collectibles.

Black Book, which provides independent vehicle pricing to the automotive industry, looked at some popular trucks over the years and analyzed their valuations at recent collectible auctions. All of these trucks were valued under $3,000, but current estimations value them anywhere from $40,000 to nearly $70,0000. Why are they so valuable?

“We love our trucks today because of the versatility, functionality, and even technological features included in many of today's popular models,” said Eric Lawrence, director of specialty products at Black Book. “These trucks of yesteryear were pioneers of their time, when trucks had different meaning on the roads but still offer the right amount of nostalgia that makes them extremely valuable today.”

Here are 11 trucks identified by Black Book that collectors may want to keep an eye out for:
