But what are their favorite carrierswith which to do business in a variety of markets, from BusinessInterruption to Cyber, from GL and E&O to Property? SuretyBonds? Umbrella? Workers' Comp?

In one of the most comprehensive studies of independentagents in the U.S. ever completed, NU, theNational Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) andFlaspöhler, part of NMG Consulting, joined forces to conduct the2017 Independent Agent Survey — a project whose findings providerevealing insight into the demographics, books of business andindustry challenges of independent Property & Casualtyinsurance agents, as well as their most highly rated carriers.

The top carriers in each of the aformentioned lines and someothers, as voted by our survey respondents, are presented below.

Today we also reveal which carriers received the highest ratingby independent agents in several key factors that are important tothem, including an attractive compensation program; responsiveservice; superior risk management and loss-control programs; andsuperior products and coverages.
