NAPSLO members are encouraged to attend the association’sAnnual Business Meeting during the Convention’s General Session onWednesday at 9 a.m. in the Centennial Ballroom, located on theBallroom level of the Hyatt.

During the General Session, members will be asked to vote uponand approve a slate of officers and directors for the Associationfor the coming year.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear a briefoverview of the Association’s work during the past year, and willhonor several award recipients, including the CharlesA. McAlear/NAPSLO Industry Award, which recognizes anindividual who has made significant contributions to the surpluslines industry; the President’s Award, which recognizes a committeechair for outstanding service; the W. Dana Roehrig PastPresident’s Award, which recognizes the efforts of a NAPSLOcommittee member; and the Richard M. Bouhan LegislativeAdvocacy Award, which honors an individual whose advocacy hasadvanced the legislative interests of the industry.

General Session attendees will also hear from keynote speakerDavid McCullough, who has been an editor, teacher, lecturerand familiar presence on public television. His bestselling worksinclude “The Wright Brothers,” “The Greater Journey: Americansin Paris,” “1776” and “John Adams,” whichremains one of the most praised and widely read Americanbiographies of all time.

McCullough has won both the Pulitzer Prize and the NationalBook Award twice, and has received the Presidential Medal ofFreedom, the nation’s highest civilian award. His television workincludes serving as host of “The AmericanExperience” (which he hosted for 12years) and “Smithsonian World,” as wellas narrating numerous documentaries including KenBurns’ “The Civil War” and the 2003 film“Seabiscuit.”

McCullough’s address is part of the E.G. Lassiter LectureSeries, presented by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO EducationalFoundation.
