White Plains, New York-based middle marketagency Marsh & McLennan AgencyLLC today said it has acquired Atlanta-basedemployee benefits consulting firm Benefits Advisory Group.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Benefits Advisory Group was founded in 2003, and offers employeebenefit services to midsize employers throughout Georgia. Thecompany said the entire Benefits Advisory Group staff, includingowner Al NeSmith, will join MMA and operate as part of MMA’sexisting Atlanta operations.

“We are pleased to have Al and his team join the Mid-Atlanticregion of MMA. Benefits Advisory Group brings a complementary setof talent that will enhance our employee benefits offering in theAtlanta market,” said Thomas R. Brown, vice chairman of MMA’sMid-Atlantic region.

MMA is a subsidiary of New York City-based insurance brokerrisk management company Marsh, which is, in turn, a subsidiary ofprofessional services firm Marsh & McLennan Cos.
