Each year, National Underwriter Property & Casualtyattends the Workers' Compensation Institute's Education Conferencein Orlando, Florida, which includes a volunteer day at Give Kids theWorld village in nearby Kissimmee.

So many attendees volunteered this year — nearly 500people — that the volunteer day expanded to range overthree days. After a charity gala hosted by National UnderwriterProperty & Casualty Editor-in-Chief Shawn Moynihan onthe evening of Aug. 20, WCEC's volunteers and attendees raised $50,000for Give Kids the World.

Give Kids the World is a storybook-themed village that hostsseriously and terminally ill children and their families onMake-A-Wish trips to the Disney parks. The volunteers at Give Kidsthe World put their maximum effort into making sure the entirefamily has an unforgettable time on their trip.

We talked with Brad Loewen, whose family's lives were changedforever after their trip to Give Kids the World in the winter of2009.
