There's a new weapon in the arsenal of adjusters andinvestigators who are on the front lines when it comes toidentifying and fighting insurance fraud.
|The Washington, D.C.-based CoalitionAgainst Insurance Fraud has unveiled a new app thatwill provide investigators with instant access to criticalinformation from anywhere in the field.
|Called FraudWire, the app allows easy viewing ofinformation from the coalition's website, such as daily and weeklyfraud news, weekly blogs, podcasts, videos, articles by industryexperts, information on fraud trends, statistics and a host ofother details formatted specifically for mobile devices.
|"There is such an influx of young people coming into the fraudfighting community and they don't use traditional methods likedesktops or laptops to get information," explained Dennis Jay,executive director of the coalition. "This allows them to look upinformation on the job or read about what's going on afterwork."
|Jay anticipates that readership will really start to increasegreatly for this age group with the app. "It's just going to createa lot more awareness about what's going on in the industry," headded.
|With more executives and other professionals moving away fromtraditional desktops and laptops to iPads and other mobile devices,Jay says the coalition has created this app specifically for thataudience. Approximately 40% of visitors to the InsuranceFraud.org site accessed it throughmobile devices, and less than half viewed the site through aWindows-based computer.
|The coalition is already anticipating the needs of itsapp users. "This is the first generation of the app," said Jay."There will be a lot more information added in the future and wewill continue to improve it."
|FraudWire is available in the Apple store for iPhone and iPad users and fromGoogle Play for Android users.
