State Farm unveiled its latest mobile app, CarCapture, available for iOS and Android,which allows the consumer to capture a picture of the back of avehicle and instantaneously obtain detailed information throughobject recognition technology.

Backed by State farm and Edmunds.com, a car shopping website,the details provided by the CarCapture service assist consumers inmaking an informed car-buying decision. Using CarCapture, consumerscan take a photo of a car and instantly obtain information, such asthe make, model, body type, year range, features, safetyinformation, customer reviews and more regarding the vehicle.

Images, as well as Edmunds' True Market Value, potentialdealership locations and State Farm insurance quotes are alsoprovided through the application.

"Consumers are relying more and more on mobile devices. Byaccessing the CarCapture app offered only through State Farm,consumers can easily search for cars in a remarkable new way," saidJack Weekes, leader of the State Farm Innovation Team."The user experience is simple. All they have to do is take aphoto, which prompts the availability of valuable information, inmoments."

Once a vehicle has been selectedthe app offers the consumer an option to get an insurance quote orfind a car. Additional platforms and features will be added infuture updates.
