Dr. Robert P. Hartwig, economist and president of the InsuranceInformation Institute (III) was named to the Insurance IndustryCharitable Foundation (IICF) National Board of Governors.

“The I.I.I. has been a longtime supporter of the IICF, and weare thrilled to have Dr. Hartwig’s representation on the NationalBoard of Governors,” said Bill Ross, CEO of the IICF. “His deepties within the industry and wide-reaching knowledge of theinsurance landscape will bring invaluable guidance to the IICF, aswell as our community and industry initiatives.

Dr. Hartwig joined the III in 1998, and has since focused hiswork on improving and understanding the key insurance issues acrossall industry stakeholders.

Prior to his current role, Hartwig previously served as theorganization’s chief economist, and before joining the III, Dr.Hartwig worked as the director of economic research at the NationalCouncil on Compensation Insurance, and as a senior economist atSwiss Reinsurance Group. He is also a member of the AmericanEconomic Assn., the American Risk and Insurance Assn., the NationalAssn. of Business Economics and the CPCU society.

The National Board of Governors for IICF is responsible formanaging the organization’s national endowment fund, as well asestablishing strategic plans throughout the IICF’s national andregional footprints. Twenty senior leaders from across the industrycomprise the board, which is chaired by Gary Petrosino of Chubb& Son.
