This has been a light year for hurricanes, considering the lastseveral years have produced some of the most dangerous anddestructive storms in the history of the United States. In the last10 years, the United States has been hit by nine of the top 10 mostexpensive hurricanes in history.

Every year, from June to November, the Atlantic Ocean breedssome of the most destructive natural disasters in the world. Whenthese monstrous storms make landfall along the Atlantic and Gulfcoast of the U.S., they leave behind debris, destruction and evendeath in their wake.
