Carolyn M. Snow, CPCU, has been appointed RIMSpresident for the 2014 term effective immediately, the riskmanagement society announced today.

Snow, director of risk management for Humana Inc., has been aRIMS member for 14 years and has served on its board of directorsfor seven years. Previously, she served as the society'streasurer, secretary and director of external affairs. She isa member of RIMS' Kentuckiana/Bluegrass Chapter.

“Risk management has arrived,” Snow says in a statement.“Business leaders around the world realize that this businessfunction can do more than just protect assets. Riskpractitioners are being called on to identify and create value fortheir organizations and, now, have a tremendous opportunity tocontribute to their companies' strategic direction.

“But it's not enough to just acknowledge the evolution ofrisk management,” she continues. “With an emphasis on resourcesthat support tomorrow's leaders, the Society's global initiativesand that draw from our membership's vast knowledge and expertise,RIMS will provide our global network of risk practitioners with aclear vision of the future of the profession to better equip themto advance their risk programs through 2020 and beyond.”
